Tucson

Tucson is cool. It is real desert. Those of us who live in San Diego might think we venture out into the desert on occasion, but our cacti are nothing compared to what lurks beyond the Arizona border. The air is dry here. There is plenty of dust. Sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking and completely devoid of oceans.

Maik just brought me an acai bowl for dinner. I am staying at Hillary's awesome new house, it is gigantic by California standards. The floors are stamped concrete. The ceilings are 12 feet tall. The doors are 8 feet tall to balance it all out. And the kitchen, dining area, and living area are all one big great room. Here we sit, the three of us, all with our macbook pros, acai bowls, talking about life, love, family, movies, training, homes, garage door openers, etc. Hillary did her turn in her recoverypump boots and now I'm taking them for a spin. We are all of the same mind, with somewhat similar goals, and to some the lifestyle must seem odd, but to the circle that Hillary and Maik live in, not an eye is batted, nor an eyebrow raised.

Today was spent on the trails at the base of Mount Lemmon, while Charisa and many many others did an organized ride from Trisports to the top of Mt Lemmon on the road. It was one of those spring days in the desert before the brutal head of summer, when everthing is just plain peachy.
